#studentsforherdimmunity Sticker Campaign

Winter Session

The #studentsforherdimmunity sticker campaign aimed to create a community of health advocates, generate enthusiasm for vaccines, and celebrate those who have gotten vaccinated. Throughout the months of March and April, Frontline Immunity (then Students for Herd Immunity) teamed up with students, schools, teachers, health clinics, and Shoppers stores to distribute custom #studentsforherdimmunity stickers and run an education campaign across social media platforms.

Call the Shots: Health Literacy Designathon

Winter Session

Call the Shots: Health Literacy Designathon brings students together to learn about immunization and work in dynamic teams to propose a novel idea to increase vaccine literacy. Last year, Call the Shots took place virtually in February and connected hundreds of students with their enthusiastic peers across disciplines and countries to facilitate collaboration, nurture problem-solving skills, and cultivate public speaking abilities. Students engaged in a fireside chat with Dr. Kerry Robinson, Director General of Public Health Agency of Canada’s Centre for Immunization Readiness, learned about immunization from top Canadian physicians, trained with a Harvard Business School student to effectively pitch their ideas, and presented their proposals to a panel of public health leaders.

Condensed Internal Vaccine Training Sessions

Summer and Fall Sessions

The Condensed Internal Vaccine Training sessions are conducted in partnership with youth organizations, schools, school boards, and community organizations to instill a basic life-long understanding of vaccines in students and equip them with the skills to lead conversations about COVID-19 vaccines in their own communities. Participants of this event will go through a 2.5-hour virtual training program that includes a presentation and interactive case study session where students will work together and harness the knowledge and skills acquired during the first part of the training to respond to a case study led by a medical school student in small groups. The event will end with a short virtual networking session led again by a medical school student. Trainings typically happen at the end of summer and beginning of fall and previous partners have included Prospective Medical Professionals (PuMP), Science Connecting Youth, Spark Initiative, and Centre for Leadership and Innovation.
